It's pretty simple, with the choke open you have too much air mixed with too little fuel for proper combustion. The hard part is finding and fixing. Start with too much air, do you have a vacuum leak, carb shaft or gasket, intake manifold? Too little fuel can be anywhere from a plugged gas cap vent to final delivery from the carb main jet. If your getting plenty of fuel @ the carb inlet, open the carb check for float binding in the bowl, improperly set. Clean the carb and blow it out. New doesn't ensure that a piece of debris isn't interferring with fuel delivery. Good luck, Joe
