If you have a 39 F-20, it dosent have hand brakes. It has foot brakes, both on the right side. I have had many F-20s and 2 F-30s, one, a 38 F-30 I have now, and the 30 has foot brakes. I think they came out with them in 38, but you could get them earlier as special equipment say back in 36 or so. I have had 5 or so F-20s
