The first thing I would do is take the starter to a local starter/alternator shop and have them check it out. It is possible that you could have a bad spot in the starter. Also, make sure all your battery cables are in good condition and the cable ends are good and clean and battery posts good and clean. Sometimes the old cables look ok, but are actually rotted out on both ends. I always try the simple things first, maybe you can get by without spending too much money.
