I carry foam ear plugs in my pocket at all times. ANY loud sound causes intense pain in my left ear and I have learned to put in the ear plugs before I get in a position where it might get loud. The best plugs I have found came from a medical supply company and are the same kind that are given to patients when they are going into a MRI machine. They don't cost much when you buy them by the box of 500 pairs. When they get dirty, I just throw them away. With the plugs in, there are things you will not hear, but you can still hear most things. The ear plugs just take away the impact of loud sounds. When I am practicing with my guns at the firing range, I use ear plugs and ear muffs together. I have tried the ear muffs that are supposed to cancel out loud noises, but they didn't work well for me. It hurt every time I shot. But others thought the new tech muffs worked very well. They cost a lot though. Protect your hearing--you never appreciate something enough until it doesn't work right any more.

A good friend and I were recently discussing our tractor electrical systems when he stated "I figure it all comes back to applying Ohms Law". At this point
