Tim, If you know you want a loader (in my book a lader is essential to anyone with just one tractor) I would recommend buying the tractor that already has a front loader. Whether you are looking at older tactors or newer ones, or new ones, it will always be cheaper and easier than finding and buying and mounting a loader. And you can test drive it to see if it does what you want. Regarding 2wd vs 4 wd, I have a Ford 841 (2wd)with a loader and I love my tractor but 4wd would be handy in many situations, regardless whether there is anything in the bucket or not. If I ever pick up another tractor, it will have 4wd.
