Is the shifter in neutral, but the tractor stays in 4th? Can you put it in another gear, & it all locks up (ends up being in 2 gears which won't turn)? My 300 does that, don't know if a 340 is the same, but just take the 3 bolts out around the base of the shifter, lift it up, and get all the sliders back in a row. They are worn, and could be tightened up by building up or replacing something. Your problem might be a bit deeper. --->Paul
