Oliver, I believe is credited with the first styled models. Which at the time meant full hoods, grills, sheet metal bodies as automobiles. It wasn't just tractors that experienced this wave of looks matter. Toasters, telephones, trains, alot of other tools took after a process to sell more than the competiter. Well, coming out of the depression had its benefits. As far as the espionage, I can't say some didn't happen, but really, one could wait till the new models hit the dealers, or just call up your competiters president and discuss what the future has in store. When Deere hired Dreyfus, I'm sure IH could figuer out what was around the corner.
