Chris I know a place that has several old tractors and old equipment and he makes his living buying and selling and fixing up. He has more steel wheeled tractors than you can shake a stick at. they are set on old car wheels to keep them of off the ground and he keeps the weeds mowed around them. I asked him one time just how much money would I have to have to buy one , his answer was they ain't for sale. He is the fourth generation and they have been handed down with the stipulation hang on as long as you can but sell them if you need the money. He plans to leave them to his kids to have something of value. They are something that will increase in value and will be worth something some day and the family may be forced someday to sell them but untill then they are protected from the scrap pile. I can kinda see his point. Maybe someday you will be in a position to hold on to something that was your Dad's by that time you may understand where these guys are coming from. See if you can kinda be the caretaker of these tractors and have the chance to start them up and run them once on awhile if that happens who knows what might happen next.
