I KNOW what the metal shavings look like as I see it all the time. was not trying to beat you down and sorry if I came across as doing so but I deal with so many who do not read the operators manual. no, it does not say anything in the manual as to WHY change the fluid at 50 hrs but with being a new machine I guess they just assume every one will know as to the reason. what I am saying is you are not seeing anything out of the norm for a 4000 series, not saying housings should not be cleaned out better but just the way it is. Have not seen a lot of warranty issuses with this as screen and filter take card of it.
