I used to live in NC. No experience with Woods tillers but, I have lots of experience on the hardpack clay down in NC. That hardpack clay is VERY tuff stuff!! I think a 6 footer should work well on your tractor, however get a heavy duty tiller if you want it to last. The first time tilling do several passes, starting shallow and working deeper. You might want to get one with a slip clutch instead of shear pins. Good luck.
