Adding HP

I saw a farmer years ago that figured out how to add HP to his Cockshutt 30. He mounted a 12 HP air cooled engine on the back of the tractor, geared down and connected to the live PTO shaft. When the tractor had to pull an implement uphill, he threw in the PTO clutch to start the aircooled engine to add HP. After he got over the hill, he shut off the rear engine until he needed a boost to get over the next hill. Worked great for him.
