Going out on a limb, here-I think residentially, you might be able to hook your floor drain to your septic system if you are rural. If not rural, I would not consider a floor drain. Commercially, a "garage" floor drain requires a water/oil separator, and an occasional pumping out. Don't like the idea of an underground tank near my shop collecting petroleum products and their vapors. If no shop drain, the EPA doesn't bother you-unless there is a black stripe coming out your door. My experience.
