The most rugged device for preventing feedback from the alternator exciter to the ignition is a resistor. When IH first began equipping tractors with alternators as standard equipment, they used a 25 ohm resistor. I recommend a 5 watt wire wound. Some say that a 10 ohm works well. I know from experience that 44 ohm works well- the value is not a critical matter.
