Here's something to consider. I've got 4 acres and roughly the same problem. Creek in the middle, pond, trees, etc. With the tractor and a 5' mower it would take me a good 4 hours, and tear the place up. Then would come all the time using a hand mower to trim and mow all the places I couldn't get to with the tractor. Fast forward to the 44" riding mower I bought for the yard. With that mower I can do the entire farm in about 3 hours. Doesn't tear the place up. And I don't need to use a push mower for trim work. I'm beating the heck out of the riding mower, but it does a darn good job. It's not the solution I expected to stumble onto, but it's something I thought I'd mention as a surprisingly viable solution for me.
