Just something to think about on the subject of charging for now "donated" services to the church...

By charging for your services you kind of make yourself have to do the jobs. You become a contracted worker or employee and not just doing a favor. It is also probably considered income by the -- dare I say it -- IRS. Of course I think technically you are supposed to report fair market value of bartering endevors as income too. For instance if you plow a neighbors drive in exchange for them hauling a new tractor home for you, you are supposed to report the fair market value of the hauling as it is your payment for the snow plowing and the neighbor is supposed to report the fair market value of the plowing as it is payment for the hauling.

I try not to let it bother me what others think of my charitable giving as getting credit for it is not my motivation but then lets face it I don't like to be thought of as not doing my part either.
