Doug, as BJ said they are a real pain and will eat everything including the roots. Also once they find an area they return year after year. Best way is to terminate them if there is only a few, but in your case it sounds like you have too many. I made a coyote cutout from an aged piece of plywood. I nailed it to a stake and the geese are fooled and don't come around. Just get a good picture of a coyote and draw it out making it the size of a mid-size dog. The old plywood is the key as the gray/brown color is lifelike. I also put a red eye cut from a plastic paint cap on it. The eye really spooks them. The coyote looks so real cars stop and take pictures and watch a long time. The fact that it doesn't move makes no difference to geese or people, they both think it's real.
