We run a 1486 as our main tillage tractor. The reason we have a 14 instead of the 15 is because the 15 has that three speed instead of a 4, but if you get the later years on one, like after 1980, ih fixed the ratio and you shouldn't have a problem. 1586 did come with TA's, and some came with out. It also might make a difference if the pto is 540/1000 or just 1000. The book for the 86 series tractor says that 14 and 15 don't come with dual pto's, but our 14 has one and a neighbor's 15 has one too. It is harder to find a 1586 with dual pto's, but this might not be a concern for you. We looked at these factor's and decided the 1486 was better for our needs. And who says the ih's are cheaper to fix, we had to put a new rearend in our 14 for $7000 and the next year put in a rebuilt motor for another $7000.

My dad dreamed that some day he would have his own tractor with every implement he could get. When he rea
