I forgot to add that aside from the savings in time & fuel, no-till also helps with topsoil retention on our hilly terain.
Farmers are under increasing pressure to reduce runoff around here since we are in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. Sedimentation, nitrogen and phosphates in the rivers and bay are getting a hard look from regulatory agencies these days.
No-till helps some with those issues.
