The Longs were built in Romania, and I guess I've never thought of that region as being the cutting edge in technology and manufacturing. We had an active dealer in western Washington during their heyday, so quite a few around, and they seem to be pretty decent tractors. The price is too high, IMHO, even for one in good shape, never mind the tranny problem.
