Don't be hasty Tom. My 1953 TO30 has operated on 30W30/20W20 non-detergent oil, as directed by the owners manual, since Dad bought it new. It has great compression, has no leaks, does not smoke or foul plugs and starts easily on its original 6V system. I'm not going to try to out-engineer the guys that made this great machine either.
