No mules or tractors, but my grandfather had an express business hauling luggage in South Haven MI, and used horses before buying trucks. One horse he bought from a grainery, and had pulled itself blind. The horse was very willing to pull, and my grandfather hitched him to a chicken coop to pll it to another location. The horse pulled as hard as possible, and the building didn't move, my grandfather said, "Come on Prince, you can do it," and the horse made another effort, and with a snap the chicken coop moved, of course, it snapped off the posts that went into the ground, much to my grandfather's surprise.
