Howdy Bill! I wouldnt try to fix it ,old rusty tanks dont seal well either with the stuff you put inside and slosh around or the stuff you smear on the outside,if it did seal it wouldd only be a temporary fix. There is a guy in Skaneatlas that sells used southern gas tanks, also I got a real clean tank from Kubis junkyard in Auburn a couple years ago. Both should be listed in the Syracuse phone book.I bet the old (new) 4000 is earning its keep this winter! Hope this helps-JK
