ariens gt17 charging system problem

I have a ariens gt 17 that has worked perfectly. However i had to jump start it recently and directly following that my charging system doenst work. there is a small circuit board mounted behind the "dash" with an exploded component on it. this must be the problem. does anyone know if this is a kohler part or and ariens part, and does anyone have a schematic of this circuit. please email me at [email protected]
