Never heard of a coyote doing this but did read an article sometime back in a newspaper from upstate New York complete with pictures about a bear that used to come out of the woods with two dogs and jump into a dumpster behind a local restaurant and throw garbage out of the dumpster to the dogs and then eat his share in the dumpster. After quite a few sightings and pictures, one of the dogs was captured. It turns out that the dog had been lost nine months prior to the incident and was eventually returned to its owner. Guess the bear preferred the taste of restaurant leftovers to the taste of dog.
