On a government standpoint, the only real reason to have a tittle is for taxation purposes. Since farm equipment is excempt from property taxes, the government could care less whether you have a tittle or not. That is probably the main reason tractors don't have a tittle. The only farm equipment that I am aware of that requires a tittle would be vehicles and perhaps trailors that are run on public roadways. But without a tittle, you have the burden of proveing ownership without one. This can be done by bill of sale and serial number.
