Any baler on an 8N is going to be far less than ideal. You CAN bale, but not very well because of the lack of live PTO. I have baled many bales with a Ford 800 which is much stronger than an 8N but also does not have live PTO. When the baler starts loading down in a heavy windrow, you have to try to quickly hit the clutch, throw tractor out of gear, and release the clutch - - all before the baler stops turning. Then you have to let the baler empty, push in the clutch, let the baler slow way down, shift into gear, let the clutch out and get up to baler operating speed before you get back to the windrow. I would much rather have a AC D-14 which is an excellent square baler tractor.
