there are many story that i have been told, but the one i remember the most is my 60 john deere. my 60 was bought new by my neighbor in 1955. it was in the early 70 an they had the 60, whick was there only tractor, they were not big farmers, stored in the corn crib. well the crib caught fire one day. they were trying to up it out with hoses when most of us neighbors showed up. by this time the 60's tires were starting to catch on fire. well howard pyle an lynn brandt ran into the crib an hooked a chain on the the tractor an horward stood on the draw bar while lynn pulled him out with one of the pickups that was there. i will never forget seeing that tractor come shooting out of the crib like a rocket. i had never seen or probably ever will again seen a tractor moving that fast in backwords. but they saved the tractor. that also says alot for the neighbors a person has to to. johndeeregene
