In search of a 'wifes' tractor I have this info... A Ford 1715 27hp tractor with 4-wheel drive & in low-low range could barely pull the 'spike' type culivator. The wheels spun a lot on dry sandy loam. The Ford 961 pulled it with ease- no spinning of wheels either. Perhaps the AC D-12 is too light weight, and a MF 35 the minimum sized tractor? It now appears 25 to 30hp is fine with proper gearing, weight is the factor. Anyone?
