The axle on wide front end tractors pivots in the centre so there really isn't much difference in stablity until you get to the point where the front axle reaches it travel limit. Up till then the "tip" line is from the rear wheels to the centre of the front axle anyway. After the axle reaches its travel limit the sitaution changes and the tractor will continue to tip on a line from the rear to front wheels. For this reason tractors don't overturn sideways in quite the same way as cars and trucks which have a fixed wheel at each corners and don't have pivoting front axles as a rule. Tractors are basically designed like tricycles and its the back wheels that give the sideways stabilty.
