How dangerous the narrow front is depends on the operator. We had a Farmhand hay stack loader that was mounted on our Farmall M with tricycle front. The loader will lift until the bucket is almost over your head. In the 40 years of use, the tractor was never tipped over. Not once. Our neighbors had a JD A and Farmall H with the same loader. Both of them tractors were tipped over numerous times.
