Since you're a lot closer to the equator than I am, but still in the northern hemisphere, the air in the tires is strongly influenced by the coriolis effect, as someone else mentioned. I had a friend who live in Peru for a while. One day while he was plowing, he looked back and darned if the tires weren't so hot they were almost on fire. It seems that at that moment he had just crossed the equator and the tires were turning one way but the air inside them was rapidly spinning in the other direction causing a tremendous amount of friction. Luckily it was only a momentary phenomenon but just to make sure it didn't happen again, he loaded the tires with beet juice to help absorb and disperse the heat.
