a guy i know bought a new 135 mf back in the sevrntees and drove it home(about a 100 miles). about 15 miles from the dealership,he visited his brother in a small city next to the highway, and after a short visit drove all the way home. when he came home he discovered that he forgot his house keys at his brother's, so he climbed his new 135 and drove all the way back to his brother, spent the night and drove home the next morning. (the guy didn't have a car nor car's driver's licence)
