Dale - If your Allis has a Delco generator, the cutout gets wired up as follows: - GEN terminal to generator "A" terminal - BAT terminal to the side of the ammeter that's NOT connected to the battery. The cutout base must be grounded for it to work. The generator "F" terminal should go to an auxiliary (or charging control) terminal on the headlight switch. The position of the light switch then determines whether the generator charges at a low or high rate. Note - the light switch must be in good condition, and solidly grounded in order for the generator to work. However in a pinch you can simply ground the generator "F" terminal and the generator will charge at it's highest rate. You just have to watch the battery to make sure it doesn't get overcharged and boil the electrolyte out!
