You did the right thing. In fact, I admire your restraint. I would have caught them and beat them to a pulp. You did it the right way, letting the law handle it. Part of the problem in our country today is that no one has to take responsibility anymore for what they do. It's like everyhting is just a joke, or doesn't matter. Those kids NOW know what their parents didn't teach them: Mess up and you have to fix it. You taught a good lesson to those kids and their peers, and the mother who scolded you is part of the problem, and should be ashamed. Keep up the good work. Sorry about your crop.
