I have a 235 MF. Same size, just the next newer series. I assume you are talking about 3-point lift. My 3-point lift is adequate but a little on the weak side. It will lift typical 3-point equipment intended for that size of tractor, but is a little weak to exspect it to lift much more. It struggles to lift anything much heavier, and big round bales with a bail fork would be out of the question. It is short wheel based and if it could lift heavy stuff, you would soon see that the front end is to light. You would have to add alot of weight to front end to keep front wheel's on ground if lifting something real heavy. As for hydraulics, I haven't had any trouble with them but haven't put them to a real test. I do however have a hydraulic big bale cart that I pull behind tractor. The hydraulics for that work great but the weight of the bale is entirely on the pull behind cart.
