To check for the correct direction of spark flow, hold a pencil with a good graphite point(be sure you do not get the metal ferrule in your hand, potential for SHOCK!!!). Let the spark jump with the pencil between the plug and the wire, if the spark goes from the wire to plug, coil polarity is correct, if it goes from the plug to the wire, it is wrong. Old mechanics shade tree trick of yesteryear!!
