IH considered this topic to be of sufficient importance to issue a service bulletin on this subject for their gasoline powered trucks in the 1950's. The information posted by Jon H is consistent with the IH bulletin. On other boards here, there are those who say that their experiments indicate that it makes no difference. Since it must be wired one way or the other, I do mine same as Jon H and the IH bulletin.
