Although I wouldn't call your situation a "little bit of fun for the boys", I would say overall that there are far less "pranks" (which you'rs wasn't) pulled by kids these days than 50 years ago. One reason is that so many kids never get out of the yard very much any more, and if they do they are escorted. Secondly, so many of them are sitting in front of a TV or a computer (like me I guess) and as a result aren't out messing about. If they are out playing some sport, it is of course over-organized and the parents are all there ... no pickup games on the corner lot any more. I was just watching a TV show on overweight kids in Canada ... apparently studies say that 1 in 3 kids are either obese or at least overweight and it is getting to be a real problem. I guess pushing over your neighbour's outhouse then running for a mile or two did somebody some good right?
