I bought what I thought was a winch, and maybe it is, but a search on Hyster-Ersted takes me to Hyster history, where I see a forklift from about 1930 with what looks like my winch. It has two drums, one about 16 inches, one about 20. A single input shaft in the center drives both drums. Various levers control the stop peg, the drum engagement, and maybe some other things I haven't yet figured out. On the case it reads "Hyster Ersted Machinery, Portland Ore." The serial number is 8191, and the model is "T." Does anybody know what I have, if it's worth anything, or if it will work for a winch. It seems to have a reduction of only about four to one on the big drum. Richard
