I've been shipping (very well packed) stuff with UPS for 2 years now and have not had any damaged items. However I am very ticked off at them for what they did with pricing at the last price increase on Jan 6, 2003. They have several different price rates depending on who you are. I was getting the "daily pickup" rate with an "occasional" account which was much cheaper than the post office for items weighing more than 3 to 5 pounds. Now they want to charge me ( and the rest of us small guys) a "on-demand" rate which for the packages I've compared priced against comes out 20% to 40% more than the "daily pickup" rate. What a scam!!!!!! I suspected they might try something like this when last year I noticed various websites having new links (for the general public) to ship your package with UPS. How many more of you are out there being scammed with the "on-demand" price schedule? Just look on the cover of the new book they sent you. It will say "on-demand" or "daily pickup" somewhere on the cover. Anyway, with what I'm shipping and how I sell the merchandise, UPS has just put me out of business with this silly "on-demand" price rate. By the time I add the shipping cost to the cost of the merchandise I sell, no one will be buying from me again.
