Prior to the Firestone demise, all those failed
"500" series tires, back in 1978, they had the
steel wheel manufacturing division,Electric Wheel.
This division made farm wagon running gears, with
their own name, and other private labeled, such
as Oliver. Steel beds and hoists were offered for
grain handling. A handful of rim makers supplied
all the wheels for farm/industrial use. Perhaps
the name fell into public domain, or is linked
to the early tractor company.
