Bert, I am retired from the Army (1997), so yes, I spent some time there, 21 years active and 4 reserve. I read your question as: Is it a positive or negative experience? Depends on you. If you go in with an open mind and apply yourself it will be a positive experience. If you listen to the gripers, whiners, and wimps you will hate every day.
