Wyatt: Don't know if this'll help, but I have a similar problem with the PTO lever staying engaged on my 1990 JD955. I have a tandem lever arrangement, where the top lever goes out thru the dash to the handle I slide up for PTO; there is a second lever inside the engine compartment that actually engages the PTO drive; it connects to the top lever by a magnetic latch just inside the instrument panel. Must be a safety mechanism. For a quick fix until I can actually repair it, I twisted some insulated wire between the two levers so both lift in tandem when I slide the PTO lever. Perhaps Ford had a similar safety interlock??? Hope that helps. Doug
