I got really bored (I guess) one time, read manufactoring points of origion on shipping containters. Oil City, PA is stamped on Walmart Super Tech and Quaker State. Now I've not been to Oil City but don't think it's big enough to have two manufactorers of oil. Of course Pennzoil now owns QS. Most of the filters appear to be made by Allied Signal (Fram and Wix). Ethylene glycol (in antifreeze) only has one US maker, everybody else just mixes it up with their own additives and water.
