Here in the upper midwest, 2 tires is always better than one unless you have to have one - like a mounted picker or very narrow rows or some such. In which case you often have more weight up front & really wish you had the 2 anyhow.

One wheel will bounce more in ruts, has more compaction, & has less floating in most cases, unless you have a really wide single which I haven't seen.
