When you shell out a bushel of ear corn you will have the same amount of corn as a bushel of shelled corn. Most grain elevators charge extra for shelling ear corn. Some elevators will pay a premium for ear corn, then grind the cobs for sale to other customers. At least in Ohio for the last 30+ years.
