That's a rather odd story. Reason being, I used to work for a mining equipment company. We used to run Fram filters and switched to Baldwin because of the number of equipment failures we experienced with the Fram filters. When we switched to Baldwin, the failures virtually went away.

On my own automobiles I have had two Fram oil filters collapse internally, and one air filter come apart. I figure that's enough. No other filter has ever done that to me. Bar none.
