I started cutting grass on flat ground w/ a 582 Cub Cadet when I was 6, also started baling straw. Drove tractors around the yard when I was 8. On my 10th birthday, my dad gave me an owners and an operators manual for a IH 1456. READ IT, KNOW IT AND BE READY TO USE IT. Happy birthday! Everything but our 350 and 560 were pretty much the same. 10 days later I was disking. Not the straightest job, and I may have missed a spot or two, but that's how you learn by doing. It really depends on the person on how young is too young--I went to school with an idiot who told me "Everyone wrecks their first car". He went on to wreck 4 or 5 in 2 years.
