It matters very much. Several guys ruined the hydro drive on IH combines last season because they used a brand of jobber oil that claimed to meet all specs altho none were listed on the jug.I got this info from a close friend who was one of the victums of this mess,also from a dealer that stated they had several customers ruin combine hydros with this universal hytran oil. Your operators manual is your best guide. A lot of IH equipment in those years needed a hytran oil that met the IH-B-6 spec. What ever you use,make sure it meets or exceeds the spec listed in the operators manual.
