Any type of cover you put on your tractor while transpoting will move around in the wind and rub the paint on any edge it contacts. I've hauled painted metal roofing covered with a tarp and after just a short trip, the paint would be completely gone on the ridges! You can minimize transport damage by having some type windbreaker in front of the trailer to deflect any debris.
